An especially lovely antique swallow brooch dating from the turn of the 20th century. The detail is stunning, particularly the individual feathers of the wings and tail, and the cabochon ruby eye. To the Victorians, the swallow represented love and constancy and was a often incorporated into sentimental jewellery such as this. Crafted in 9 karat gold throughout.
