This stunning brooch was dated by two experts to be from mid to late 1800's, making it a Victorian piece, it appears  to have all it's original findings and it bears no hallmarks, but tests silver, with what seems to be a very thin or worn gold layer on the back.

There is over 100 rose cut diamonds on this brooch, set on the whole front surface, including the stem from the bottom to under the top of the oval part, and the folds on the leaves. The diamonds vary in shapes and range from approximately H to K in color on average, the bigger ones have tall domes and gorgeous faceting and they sparkle beautifully like perfect clear drops of rain water on a real flower. I couldn't do this brooch justice on my photos, I know when I first saw it I stared at it for a very, very long time.

The brooch weights 18.4 grams and has a length of 6.2cm or approx. 2.5 inches, with the widest part measuring 26mm or approx. 1 inch .  This brooch came to me with an European certificate stating it to contain 2.90CT of diamonds. I know that estimating weight of rose cut diamonds is a difficult task when mounted and a value is not usually given when trading them, but after a lot of careful examining of the piece that estimate appears accurate.
